Dr. Elmer Zapata-Mercado was named a BPS Congressional Fellow for the 2022-2023 policy year. Elmer will spend a year working on Capitol Hill providing scientific input on legislative and policy issues. He’ll also participate in the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s Science and Technology Fellowship Program. Through this program, he’ll receive an orientation on congressional and executive branch functions as well as participate in a seminar series on science policy related issues. Elmer completed his PhD in 2021 in the Hristova lab. Way to go, Elmer!
